Correct Hardware

Using the correct hardware

The only requirement for connecting your PC or notebook to the TV is an HDMI output.
This is standard on almost all more recent devices.

HDMI
Modern graphics cards and TVs are meanwhile all equipped with an HDMI connection. This will provide you with the best possible signal.
Simply connect the HDMI output on your PC or notebook to the HDMI input on your TV set.

Once the computer has been correctly connected to the TV, use the TV remote to select “Source” on your TV, and then select the relevant HDMI input. Now you only need to extend the PC screen onto the TV.

The right cables for the TV

Connecting with an HDMI cable
As HDMI offers the best quality, we recommend connecting the TV by means of an HDMI cable (E), if the necessary ports are available.

Connecting with a VGA (D-SUB) cable
If your TV doesn’t have an HDMI port, but VGA input (usually blue), use a VGA cable (D).

Connecting by DVI to HDMI
Some graphics cards will not have an HDMI output, but a DVI output (usually white). In this case, you can use a so-called DVI to HDMI cable (F) to connect your HDMI-capable TV to your computer.
Once the computer has been correctly connected to the TV, the computer screen then only needs to be extended onto the TV.
